100 Not-Out (100 Word stories)

There’s more to me…

Photography was my hobby. My husband and I were going to a solo exhibition in town.
The eternity band on my finger had bound us together over a decade of struggle. The camera had taken a back seat as I juggled my roles as a daughter, wife, mother and career woman.
It had returned when I realised I had limited time. I faced the choice between self pity or self confidence; despair or hope; weakness or resilience.
The exhibition was a display of photos of my successful battle with cancer. It’s not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.
